At a glance
- Choose History in the menu, under Landlord only, to see every change.
- Each entry shows who made the change, when, and the old and new values.
- It's append-only: nothing in it can be edited or removed, by anyone.
- If LetResolve's administrator ever looks at your account, that's recorded here too.
Where to find it
- The History page (in the menu) lists the latest 200 changes across your whole account.
- Recent activity on your dashboard shows the last few changes, with Full history to see more.
- The History panel on each issue shows the changes to that issue alone.
The History is for landlords. Landlord Users see a note on each issue saying that the full change history is available to the account owner.
Reading an entry
Each entry tells you five things:
- When: the date and time of the change.
- Who: the email address of the person who made it.
- Action: what happened: created, edited, uploaded, deleted, invited, accepted, revoked or viewed. Marking an issue resolved shows as edited, with the status change listed.
- Record: what it happened to, such as #146 Black mould in bathroom ceiling.
- Changes: each field that changed, with the old value crossed out and the new one beside it. A field that was blank shows as empty.
What's recorded
Every addition, edit and deletion is recorded: properties, occupiers, issues, photos and documents. So are changes to your team, such as invitations sent and accepted and access revoked. A change and its History entry are saved together, so one can never happen without the other.
Where photos show up
Photos and documents added to an issue appear on the main History page, but not yet in that issue's own History panel.
Nobody can change it
The History is append-only: new entries are added, and existing ones are never edited or removed. Not by you, not by your team and not by us.
- Deleting an issue or property doesn't delete its History. The record of what happened stays.
- When someone's access is revoked, their name stays on everything they did.
That's what makes it trustworthy. A spreadsheet loses the old value when someone types over it, but LetResolve keeps both.
When LetResolve looks at your account
We only look at an account when you've asked us for help, or when it's genuinely needed to keep LetResolve running safely. When we do:
- we can only read. We can't change anything in your account.
- every page we open is written into your History, in plain words such as "Issue #12 Boiler not firing", "Property list" or "Damp & mould register".
- looking at the same page again within 10 minutes is recorded once, so a single visit doesn't fill your History with repeats.
So you can always see exactly when your data was looked at. Our Privacy Policy explains more.
Using the History
- In a dispute: it shows when an issue was reported, every update, and when it was resolved, with names and times.
- Across a team: it shows who changed what, so nothing gets lost between you and your agent.
- To see who's active: the Activity by person report summarises the History for each person.
- To keep a copy: use your browser's Print option on the History page to print it or save it as a PDF.
